Taapsee Pannu, who married Mathias Boe in March this year, reacted to her husband’s retirement announcement. The former Badminton player from Denmark retired as a badminton coach. He wrote on Instagram, “I know the feeling all too well myself. Pushing yourself to the limit everyday, to be in the best shape of your life, and then things doesn’t go as you would have hoped for. I know you guys are gutted, I know how much you wanted to bring a medal back to India, but this time it wasn’t meant to be.”
He continued, “But you have everything to be proud of, how hard you have worked in this Olympics camp, battling injuries, even taken injections to reduce the pain, that is dedication, that is passion and that is a lot of Heart. You have won so much over the past years and you are going to win so much more in the future.”
“For me, my coaching days ends here, I’m not Going to continue in India or anywhere else, for now at least. I have spend too much time in a badminton hall and it’s also pretty stressful to be a coach, I’m a tired old man. I want to thank @media.iccsai , Garg Sir and Rakesh Sir, @bai_media , @gosportsvoices for the support over the years 🇮🇳. Also a huge shout out to all my colleagues in Indian Badminton. Thank you for a lot of good memories and I wish you all the best. Jai Hind 🇮🇳,” he added.

Reacting to the post, Taapsee commented “But also now u r a married man. U need to take a step back. I need to come back home from work everyday to ready dinner and cleaning in order. So chop chop!”
Taapsee and Mathias got married in a private ceremony this year. They did not share any wedding pictures till now. However, she is vocal about her husband’s achievements and work.
Earlier in an interview with Fever FM, Taapsee said “I feel sad for those people who don’t know who this guy (Mathias Boe) is. And I don’t want to come out and tell people. Just because he isn’t a cricketer or a big businessman, you don’t really feel like knowing. This is the guy who is probably one of the biggest achievers in badminton in the world and right now probably responsible for where our men’s badminton doubles have reached.”
She added, “People have not really been interested in knowing about him, I have never hidden him. He is very much visible and he is a tall, well-built man, he shines with his white skin.”
On the work front, Taapsee will be next seen in Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba. It also stars Sunny Kaushal, Vikrant Massey, Jimmy Shergill and Aditya Srivastava in significant roles. The movie will be released on Netflix on 9th August.
