About Mahadev Betting App Scam

Reportedly, FairPlay, a subsidiary application of the Mahadev online gaming app, offers platforms for illegal betting on various live games such as cricket, poker, card games, chance games, badminton, tennis, and football. Last year, the Mahadev betting app made headlines when actors Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor, who had endorsed the app, were summoned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for questioning. The app came under scrutiny by investigative agencies following a lavish ₹ 200-crore wedding in the UAE in February last year, which was reportedly funded entirely in cash.

Operated from Dubai by Saurabh Chandrakar and Ravi Uppal, both hailing from Bhilai, Chhattisgarh, the Mahadev Online betting app attracted new customers by regularly creating new websites and closed groups on chat apps. They frequently ran paid advertisements on social media platforms to lure individuals to message their numbers for profit. The ED, investigating the money laundering case linked to the Mahadev app for over a year, has alleged the involvement of various high-ranking politicians and bureaucrats from Chhattisgarh. The estimated proceeds of crime in this case amount to approximately Rs 6,000 crore, as per the ED's findings.
