The Batman Part II: Movie buffs have eagerly awaited the action-drama The Batman Part II starring Robert Pattinson ever since the confirmation of the sequel in 2022. Directed by Matt Reeves, Pattinson will reprise his role in the upcoming movie. After the release got delayed, moving from 2026 to 2027, Batman fans have anxiously awaited updates. Now, the actor has dropped a major update, revealing that shooting for The Batman Part II will begin by the end of this year.
Batman fame Robert Pattinson appeared on the red carpet in London for his new movie Mickey 17. During his appearance, he talked about The Batman Part II with Variety. He shared the update about the shooting without revealing too many plot details. He said, “I think at the end of the year? And I know what it’s about, but I can’t tell anyone, but it’s very cool. It’s very exciting.”

Pattinson also acknowledged the film’s delay and mentioned, “It’s a while…everything feels so long ago because COVID just erased three years," as quoted by Deadline.
Warner Bros. and director Reeves postponed the release date of The Batman Part II from October 2, 2026, to October 1, 2027, at the Golden Globes.
The highly anticipated sequel was announced at CinemaCon in April 2022. Pattinson, Andy Serkis, Jeffrey Wright, and Colin Farrell are all expected to reprise their roles.
Earlier, Serkis commented on the project, saying, “I am as hungry for it as you all are. He (Matt Reeves) told me the story of The Batman 2, and I was so excited for it.”
Reeves was also quoted saying, “We’re doing something that continues where the story came from and something I hope people are really surprised by.”
Reeves’ original movie earned positive reviews and three Oscar nominations.
