BTS is a global name today enjoying a mass fandom across the globe. What started from scratch by a financially struggling agency, is now a global sensation with millions of fan-following screaming and yearning to get a glance of the group. Not only the K-Pop group has built a legacy for themselves in these 10 years, but every member of the group enjoys their own crazy fandom with a formation of loyal followers across the globe, known as the BTS ARMY. Created by the HYBE empire, BTS initially had nine members, with trainees Kim Jihoon and Hwan Jihwan exiting the team.

The company was actively training several young talents and was in search of a perfect lineup. According to the BTS members memoir, ‘Beyond The Story’, BIGHIT Music had to make a tough decision to release all its trainees with their limited resources on board and go ahead with the final seven. The company had to let go of trainees Kim Jihoon and Hwan Jihwan, as the two gave up their dreams eventually of becoming idols.

According to a report in Pinkvilla, the two shared their story and shed light on the fact that how connected and emotional the BTS members felt once they received the news of their departure from the group. He said, “You have to keep upgrading yourself to prove that, but I've been stuck since I was a trainee and I was frustrated by that. so when the company said that to me (About laying him off), I accepted it very easily."

Kim Jihoon also mentioned that Jungkook was sincerely applauded by everybody in the room for carrying a crazy amount of talent. Choosing him over Kim, this decision played a significant role in his life which also made him let go of the group from the training program. On the other hand, Hwang Jihwan also shared a similar perspective. He disclosed that the agency initially focused on vocal training, which made him believe that he might not be the right fit for the group.

Kim Jihoon further shared the reactions of the BTS members upon learning that the duo are leaving BIGHIT. The leader of the team, RM, was keenly upset with the situation. Kim said, “Namjoon opened the door first. He asked me if I was quitting. I think he was very upset at that time. Namjoon was there for two years. He had to see many friends leaving, and I was with him 24/7, so it was more heartbreaking."

Hwang further mentioned that the whole group offered them comfort and support during their challenging time. The two are doing really well in their respective fields, with Hwang acting as a vocal trainer, and Kim gained recognition as a fitness trainer.
