Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah has been making headlines again, this time due to a major cast change. Palak Sindhwani, who played the role of Sonu Bhide, recently made a controversial exit from the show. The makers have now announced that Khushi Mali will be taking over the role. Palak Sindhwani’s departure from the show has been anything but smooth. She revealed that the production team accused her of breaching her contract by participating in brand endorsements. Palak, however, dismissed these claims, stating that she faced several challenges on set, including panic attacks, and alleged that the production team created a hostile work environment because she expressed her desire to leave the show.
Despite these controversies, TMKOC has moved forward and introduced Khushi Mali as the new Sonu. The show’s production team shared the news on social media, writing, "Join us in warmly welcoming Khushi Mali as the Sonu Bhide to the TMKOC family! Get ready to see her light up Gokuldham with her energy and charm! Watch her journey unfold from Monday, 7th October 2024, at 8:30 PM, only on Sony SAB!"

Khushi is the fourth actress to play Sonu in the show’s long history. Jheel Mehta initially portrayed the character, followed by Nidhi Bhanushali, who was later replaced by Palak Sindhwani. Fans are eager to see how Khushi will make her mark on the show.
TMKOC has been a popular household name for years, but it has also been surrounded by controversies lately. Several actors have left the show and publicly voiced their grievances against producer Asit Kumarr Modi. Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal, who played Mrs. Roshan Sodhi, accused the producer of sexual harassment. These allegations, along with issues of delayed payments and mistreatment, have cast a shadow on the otherwise light-hearted comedy series.
