The Tollywood film industry is reeling from the tragic news of the death of noted producer Sunkara Krishna Prasad Choudhary, popularly known as KP Choudhary, as per a report by PTI. The 47-year-old, recognized for his role in releasing the Tamil film Kabali in Telugu, was found dead in Goa on Monday in what is being reported as a suicide.

As per a report by Deccan Chronicle, the producer's life had been marred by significant struggles, both professionally and personally. In 2023, Choudhary faced serious legal troubles after being arrested by the Cyberabad Special Operations Team in connection with a high-profile drugs case. Investigations revealed that he had clients from both Tollywood and Kollywood, as well as influential figures from the business world, further amplifying the scandal surrounding his name.

Reports suggest that financial losses and mounting pressure from lenders played a major role in his tragic demise. After facing significant setbacks in the film industry, where his ventures failed to garner the success he had hoped for, KP Choudhary reportedly turned to the illegal drug trade. The producer allegedly became involved in the procurement and distribution of narcotics, which he is said to have supplied through his venture, the OHM pub in Goa. The pub was allegedly a hotspot where drugs were distributed to various celebrities and individuals within the entertainment industry.
