UI OTT Release Update: A Kannada sci-fi dystopian action movie titled UI debuted in theatres on December 20 last year. Upendra directed and starred in the movie, marking his return to direction after a decade. The film blends thought-provoking themes with action and drama, along with Upendra’s signature style of storytelling. However, the movie didn’t perform well at the box office and received mixed reviews from both the audience and critics. Following its theatrical run, movie buffs have eagerly awaited its OTT release. Now, it seems the makers plan to release UI online this month.
UI OTT Release Update
According to reports, UI, starring Upendra and Reeshma Nanaiah, will be available for streaming on ZEE5 starting March 30. However, the makers have yet to confirm the news about its OTT premiere.
About the UI Movie: Plot and Cast
In UI, Upendra plays a dual role as Satya and Kalki. The story centers around these characters set in a dystopian world. The film explores the ideological differences between the siblings—Satya believes in the principles of morality and equality, while Kalki represents transformation and conflict. This journey delves into themes of caste, religion, and societal changes. The film also examines the consequences of misusing power, knowledge, and technology, which ultimately lead to humanity’s and Earth’s destruction. The storyline of UI demonstrates how systemic imbalances in all life cycles can provoke profound shifts and irreversible breakdowns, resulting in both Earth’s and humanity’s downfall.
Produced by G. Manohar and KP Shreekanth under the banner of Lahari Films, the music was composed by B. Ajaneesh Loknath. UI released not only in Kannada but also in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam. Alongside Upendra, Reeshma Nanaiah, the film also stars Sadhu Kokila, Murali Sharma, Vinayak Trivedi, Indrajit Lankesh, Nidhi Subbaiah, Om Sai Prakash, Guruprasad, P. Ravi Shankar as Vaamana Rao, Achyuth Kumar, Hamsa Prathap, Neetu, and Lasya Nagraj in pivotal roles.
