Prem Chopra Discharged: After a week of hospitalisation, veteran actor Prem Chopra has been discharged from Mumbai's Lilavati Hospital. He was admitted for chest congestion and other age-related ailments on November 8. As earlier revealed by doctors at the hospital, he had developed a viral and lung infection and was under observation, but he was never in a critical state. His son-in-law, actor Vikas Bhalla, confirmed the news of Prem Chopra's return home following the health scare.
Prem Chopra Discharged From Hospital
His son-in-law, actor Vikas Bhalla, has been sharing health updates about Prem Chopra ever since his hospitalisation. He told India Today, "He is back home and is doing hale and hearty.” Earlier, speaking about the reason behind the veteran actor's admission to the hospital, he stated, "It’s all age-related, and a regular procedure. There is nothing to worry about."
Earlier, doctor Jalil Parker said in a statement, "Prem Chopra ji was admitted to Leelavati Hospital two days ago under his family cardiologist Dr. Nitin Gokhale. He has a heart issue also and he also developed a viral infection, lung infection, for which I am also the treating physician in the same team. He is not in the ICU, he is in the rooms, in the wards and he is not critical. He has age-related issues, and that is why it takes time for an elderly gentleman to recover… He is stable."

Both Bollywood veteran actors Prem Chopra and Dharmendra made headlines for their health following their hospitalisation. Prem Chopra also expressed concern about his co-star, as revealed earlier by his son-in-law. Both actors are back home and are on the road to a speedy recovery. Dharmendra was discharged from the Breach Candy Hospital on November 12 morning after receiving treatment and is now recovering at home.

The actor, who turned 90 on September 23, 2025, has been one of the most iconic on-screen antagonists. With over 300 films to his credit, he has carved a niche for himself in Bollywood since the 1960s through his charismatic performances and distinctive style. His line from the Bobby movie, "Prem naam hai mera.. Prem Chopra," continues to be one of the most iconic dialogues in Hindi cinema and remains synonymous with his name and legacy.
