Vikrant Massey has made a significant mark in the entertainment industry. He gained recognition for his roles in TV shows such as 'Dharam Veer' and 'Balika Vadhu.' However, it was his transition to Bollywood that brought him widespread acclaim. With the success of '12th Fail,' the actor has once again captured hearts. To commemorate the achievement, he, along with director Vidhu Vinod Chopra and co-star Medha Shankar, celebrated '100 days of 12th Fail' in cinema.
During the celebration, Vikrant Massey expressed his sentiments, stating, "I truly believe that '12th Fail' was a restart moment in my career. I must admit that when sir (Vidhu Vinod Chopra) approached me for the role of Manoj, he mentioned, 'Tujhe koi nahin janta... bahut sare log tujhe nahin jante iske bawajood tu kaam kar raha hai itne salo se.' So, yes, it was a restart moment for me to work with such a great director and that too on a significant story. I had to go back and unlearn so many things. I learned a lot by working on '12th Fail.' I was with Sir for 2.5 years on the sets of '12th Fail.' He made me learn so much. Every day you wake up, there is a restart moment."
Adapted from a book by Anurag Pathak, '12th Fail' narrates the life story of Manoj Kumar Sharma, who triumphed over extreme poverty to become an IPS officer. The film focuses on his journey and highlights the crucial role played by his wife, IRS officer Shraddha Joshi, in his ascent. Vikrant Massey portrayed the character of Manoj, while Medha Shankar took on the role of Shraddha.
Vidhu Vinod Chopra, addressing a full hall of film students and media, expressed his commitment to '12th Fail,' stating that he proceeded with the film because he believed in it. He invested his own funds in producing the movie, managing its marketing campaign, and overseeing its release.
