Vikrant Massey has made headlines not only for his power-packed performance in the political drama movie The Sabarmati Report but also his decision to take a break from acting, that went viral and created waves on social media. After giving clarifications on his viral post, Massey revealed the actual reason behind his decision. He shared how social media pressure played a crucial role in his break.
Vikrant Massey in a conversation with Agenda AajTak shared, “The life I had always dreamt of, I finally got it, so I thought it was time to live it. I want to take a break, because at the end of the day, everything is transient, which is why I am only doing one film next year. Social media pressure was an important part of sharing that break from work post, that I concede. I lead a public life, and am borderline introvert-ish. One has to come to social media. But if someone were to give me an option, I would come selectively on it, whenever I would feel like sharing something."
The actor revealed how he was unable to spend time with his wife and son, that led to take this break. He added, “And then my son was born, I was not able to spend any quality time with him or my wife. All of this was happening simultaneously. So, which is why I had written in that Instagram post, that as an actor, son, father and as a husband, it was time for me to recalibrate. And after doing what I had done professionally, I thought, ‘what else could I have done more as an actor in this country?’ I just want to better myself as an artiste going forward."
Vikrant Massey and Sheetal Thakur got married in February 2022. The couple welcomed their first child, a baby boy on February 7 this year.

Vikrant on December 2 took to his Instagram and posted, "The last few years and beyond have been phenomenal. I thank each and every one of you for your indelible support. But as I move forward, I realize it's time to recalibrate and go back home. As a husband, father, and son. And also as an actor. So, in 2025, we will meet each other for one last time. Until the time deems right. Last two movies and many years of memories. Thank you again. For everything and everything in between. Forever indebted."

Vikrant is currently receiving acclaim for his performance in the movie The Sabarmati Report, also starring Raashii Khanna and Ridhi Dogra in lead roles. Directed by Dheeraj Sarna, the film was released in theatres on November 15, 2024. Besides this, he has Yaar Jigri and Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan also starring Shanaya Kapoor in the pipeline.
