BTS Jungkook's Pakistan Billboard Controversy: BTS, the South Korean boyband, is turning their Hollywood dreams into reality. They are taking charge of the global music scene with their lively songs, filled with energetic melodies that can make anyone start dancing instantly. The group has been ruling the music charts for more than five years, amassing a dedicated fan base that never misses an opportunity to celebrate the members of Bangtan.
Despite their unparalleled fanbase, BTS still faces misconceptions in some parts of the world, like neighbouring country Pakistan, where their gender-neutral representation is mistakenly associated with homosexuality.
The incident dates back to September 1, 2021, when a Pakistani fan club of the immensely popular group displayed a billboard featuring Jungkook to celebrate his birthday. Even though they had obtained permission from the Chamber of Commerce, the billboard was taken down following a warning from a local MLA, who claimed it promoted homosexuality.

The poster in question showed Jungkook in a stylish black blazer over a white t-shirt, exuding his usual charm, accompanied by the caption, "Happy 24th birthday."
Younus Mughal, the ARMY member who owned the billboard, challenged the MLA's decision to remove it. In response, he was informed that local politicians had received numerous complaints from residents. Many people believed that the band, BTS, had a detrimental impact on the youth, accusing them of promoting homosexuality. The local MLA, as cited by Vice, expressed concerns that the group's influence encouraged young people to engage in inappropriate behaviour.
