Aamir Khan had shocked his fans after he announced to take a break from films post the massive failure of his last venture ‘Laal Singh Chaddha.’ The 2022 release was directed by Advait Chandan and also featured Kareena Kapoor Khan in the lead role. Following the debacle, the Bollywood star also left the Spanish film ‘Campeones’ remake claiming that he wanted to spend some time with his family. However, the actor was not able to digest the flat fall of the film at the box office.
Now, Aamir Khan’s cousin and director Mansoor Khan revealed that even renowned filmmaker SS Rajamouli called out the star’s performance to be ‘over the top’ in the film. However, when Rajamouli, known for his large production and blockbuster films like ‘Baahubali’ and ‘RRR’ called him out, that hit Aamir Khan hard.

Mansoor Khan recently recalled his conversation with the actor, and in a conversation with PTI said, “Aamir has a great sense of humour. So one day he laughingly tells me, ‘When you told me it was over the top, I said, ok, you are a subtle guy which is why you might have felt that way. But when someone like Rajamouli tells me overacting lag raha hai, I said to myself, Isko bhi lag raha hai toh kiya hi hoga (If he also feels so than it must be).”

He further said, “I liked the script. I think writer Atul Kulkarni did a fine job of it. Yes, Aamir, I believe, went over the top with his expressions. I mean the character is not a jerk, not someone suffering with dyslexia or anything else. He is a bit odd … but that’s about it."
He continued, “I loved Tom Hanks in the original (Forrest Gump), he was so minimal with his expressions and portrayal of the character. Of course, I did tell this to Aamir.”

Mansoor Khan directed Aamir Khan’s superhit debut film ‘Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak’ in 1988. The filmmaker is now ready with his new book, ‘One: The Story of the Ultimate Myth.’
