Allu Arjun's eagerly awaited upcoming film, 'Pushpa 2: The Rule,' helmed by Sukumar, is generating considerable buzz on social media. Produced by Mythri Movie Makers, it also stars Fahadh Faasil and Rashmika Mandanna reprising their roles. The film, with a budget of Rs 500 crore, is scheduled for release on 15 August 2024, it coincides with India's Independence Day. Recent reports reveal that the movie has secured a lucrative deal worth Rs 275 crore with a streaming platform. This increased focus has consequently influenced the actor's earnings, leading to a reported significant 30% rise in his fee.
Reports indicate that Pushpa 2 has already sealed a pre-release deal exceeding Rs 1,000 crores, encompassing theatrical distribution, audio, satellite, and digital rights. Netflix, in particular, has acquired the OTT rights for Rs 275 crores, marking a significant investment in the film.
Allu Arjun's increased fee can be credited to his status as one of the industry's most sought-after actors. The anticipation surrounding the Pushpa sequel has attracted numerous filmmakers eager to collaborate with him. Traditionally commanding around Rs 100 crore per film, Allu Arjun is now expected to seek Rs 150 crore for his roles, as per recent reports. According to Hindustan Times, "This heightened attention has consequently impacted the actor’s pay scale, resulting in a substantial 30% increase in his fee."
About Pushpa 2
According to Pinkvilla, Anil Thadani has reportedly secured the theatrical rights for Pushpa 2 in advance, for a whopping sum of Rs 200 crore. Described as the most eagerly anticipated Indian film of the year, Pushpa 2 has shattered records in pre-release business. Anil Thadani's acquisition of the theatrical rights for this action-packed entertainer directed by Sukumar is a testament to its immense popularity.
The deal for Pushpa 2 stands as the largest theatrical agreement in North India, surpassing even the most substantial pre-pandemic deals, which ranged from approximately Rs 140 to Rs 160 crore.
'Pushpa 2', produced under the Sukumar Writings banner, also stars Dhananjay, Rao Ramesh, Sunil, and Anasuya Bharadwaj. Slated for release on Independence Day, this action-packed sequel is produced by Naveen Yerneni and Yalamanchili Ravi Shankar.
