Yuzvendra Chahal, Dhanashree Verma Are Divorced, Former Couple Stayed Separately For 18 Months

Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal and Dhanashree Verma are now officially divorced. The couple, who had been making headlines for quite some time for their separation, has now parted ways. As per a report by ABP News, the final hearing of their divorce and including all the necessary formalities were completed on February 20. The reports suggest that the hearing took place at Mumbai’s Bandra court where they were both present from 11 am onwards yesterday. 

The reports further claimed that the judge asked them to attend a counselling session which occurred for 45 minutes. When asked for their final decision by the Judge, Yuzvendra and Dhanashree stated that they were seeking a mutual consent divorce. Not only that, they also mentioned that they were living separately for past 18 months before their final decision of separation. When they were asked about the reason behind their separation, they said they had ‘compatibility issues’. After much discussion, the judge granted them divorce. As per the reports, the final verdict was given at 4:30 pm at the Bandra family court. 

Post the divorce, the duo shared cryptic posts on their Instagram stories without mentioning each other’s name or about their separation. Yuzvendra’s post read, “God has protected me more times than I can count. So I can only imagine the times I've been rescued that I don't even know about. Thank you, God, for always being there, even when I don’t know it. Amen.”

On the other hand, Dhanashree’s post mentioned, “From stressed to blessed. Isn't it amazing how God can turn our worries and trials into blessings? If you're stressing about something today, know that you have a choice. You can either keep worrying or you can surrender it all to God and choose to pray about everything. There is power in having faith that God can work all things together for your good.” The official confirmation about the divorce is awaited from both the sides.
