In a major push to ease the commute for the residents and ensure durable roads, the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) is set to develop the main and internal roads of 15 sectors within the next ten days. With the deadline set for October 2, the project aims to improve the drainage system, along with the green belt, being carried out at a fast pace.
GMDA has begun the road construction and drainage work, which is progressing rapidly in various sectors of New Gurugram, including Sectors 84, 85, 86, 87, 90, 91, 92, 93, 94 and 95.

Arun Dhankhar, Chief Engineer of the GMDA, stated that the focus is on road layering, improving dividers, and preparing the green belt. Work is progressing on several projects simultaneously, intending to complete all tasks within the set deadline.
A major project connected to the Dwarka Expressway is also gaining momentum, with the construction of a 5.5-kilometre-long Multi-Utility Corridor from CPR Sector 84 to Manesar underway. Drainage lines are being laid on both sides of this corridor to improve water drainage.
Officials have stated that special attention is being paid to the drainage system this time. Previously, roads in many areas would deteriorate due to inadequate water drainage, causing problems for commuters. However, new drains are now being constructed to provide residents, relief from waterlogging during the next monsoon.
