The road, sewer, and storm water networks in the city will be strengthened. In this regard, 26 development works were approved during a meeting of the Finance and Contract Committee held on Thursday. Mayor Rajrani Malhotra presided over the meeting.
A detailed discussion was held during the meeting regarding 28 major development works proposed in various wards of the city, out of which 26 projects were granted administrative approval. These works will incur a cost of approximately ₹165 crore.
Municipal Commissioner Pradeep Dahiya, committee members Councilors Anoop Singh and Sundar Singh, Chief Engineer Vijay Dhaka, Corporation Secretary and DTP Siddharth Khandelwal, Executive Engineers Sandeep Dhundhwal, Pradeep Kumar, Praveen Raghav, Sundar Sheoran, Sandeep Sihag, Sachin Yadav, and Assistant Engineer Manoj Ahlawat were present at the meeting. The committee deliberated on all proposals in detail and granted administrative approval to the projects.
Approvals included Rs 804.24 lakh for a 2 MLD Sewage Treatment Plant and sewer line laying work in Ward 17, Rs 463.55 lakh for road construction from KherkiDaula to Sihi village, Rs 658.37 lakh for a storm water drain on the Begampur-Khatola to Behrampur road and NH-48, and Rs 296.79 lakh for laying a water supply network in Darbaripur.
Similarly, works include Rs 598.57 lakh for a sewer line and storm water drain up to Sihi CPR road, Rs 329.04 lakh for pending road work from Mohammadpur Truck Union to CPR road, Rs 571.30 lakh for the construction of Sundar Singh Marg Model Road from MG Road to Old Delhi Road, ₹977.93 lakh for the strengthening and rehabilitation of a 600 mm sewer line, and Rs 763.79 lakh for model road construction in Sector-14.
Additionally, development works will be undertaken worth ₹958.83 lakh for road construction in Sushant Lok Phase-1, Rs 609.69 lakh for model road construction from South City-II Block-A to Nirvana Country Road, Rs 615.87 lakh for a model road from HPR Road to Bani Square, and Rs 632.34 lakh for a model road from Omaxe Mall to Rosewood City.
Construction will be carried out with Rs 684.45 lakh for road construction and a 700 mm sewer line from Nurpur Turn to Aklimpur, Rs 664.09 lakh for roads in Sector 5, Rs 405.85 lakh for roads in Sushant Lok-3 Block B and C, and ₹825.63 lakh for roads in Sushant Lok-1 A and B Blocks.
Development works will include Rs 553.84 lakh for a storm water drain from Euro School to the GMCBL Bus Stand and Rs 388 lakh for the development of a secondary collection point in Khandsa village. The work in Khandsa will be executed only after receiving an NOC from HSIIDC.

Sector-47 Roads To Be Constructed
During the discussion on the proposal of Rs 993.18 lakh for the construction of a cowshed in Baliyawas village and Rs 293 lakh for internal roads in Sector-47, it was decided to refer these matters to the Corporation House.
During the discussion on the proposal of Rs 365.06 lakh for the renovation of the green belt near Madhav Bhawan in Sector-12, the committee suggested the provision of Rain Water Harvesting (RWH). Proposals worth Rs 942.61 lakh for roads, sewer lines, and water supply in New Palam Vihar Blocks A and F, and Rs 613.27 lakh for New Palam Vihar Blocks B and G were approved.
New Momentum In Gurugram's Development
Mayor Rajrani Malhotra stated that the projects approved by the corporation will strengthen the city's infrastructure and provide permanent solutions to issues related to sewers, drainage, roads, and sanitation. She added that all approved works will be completed within the stipulated timeframe with high quality.

Infrastructure Will Get A New Direction
Municipal Commissioner Pradeep Dahiya said that the Municipal Corporation is continuously working to strengthen basic amenities in Gurugram city. These development projects approved by the Finance and Contract Committee will give a new direction to Gurugram's infrastructure.
He stated that works related to sanitation, sewerage, drainage, road construction, and water supply are being accelerated with priority so that citizens can get better urban facilities.
