The Gurugram traffic police have intensified action against drink-driving, issuing 2,287 challans in September alone. During this period, two vehicles were impounded. The campaign, conducted between September 1 and 30 under the supervision of DCP Traffic Dr Rajesh Mohan, involved the deployment of officers at designated locations across the city. Among the offenders, 25 were women.

DCP Dr Mohan stated that in addition to fines, the driving licences of offenders are suspended for three months, during which they are prohibited from operating any vehicle. Similar enforcement campaigns are expected to continue in the future.

Meanwhile, an emergency meeting of the Daulatabad Road Industrial Association was held to address concerns over the proposed closure of the road from Daulatabad Flyover to Dwarka Expressway for two months. Chaired by President Pawan Jindal, the association members unanimously urged the authorities to provide an alternative route to avoid inconvenience to hundreds of thousands of commuters.

Entrepreneurs suggested that Dhanwapur Road and Rajendra Park Road, which have been closed for the past two years, be repaired as a priority. They also called for complete repair of the sewer line from Daulatabad Flyover to Dwarka Expressway.

Concerns were raised that raising the height of the new road could cause waterlogging on connecting streets, and it was recommended that the road height be maintained at its current level. Proper drainage systems should be ensured to prevent water accumulation.

The meeting was attended by Vice President Sanjeev Agarwal, General Secretary Umesh Dwivedi, Treasurer Harish Gupta, and other members, including Ramnik Jain, Shribhagwan, Sheetal Mehra, Satish Agarwal, MSME Vice Chairman Vinod Gupta, Dheeraj Maheshwari, Manoj Kumar, and Advocate Mohit Sharma.
