After a 25-year legal battle, individuals from the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) of the RD City colony have finally been allotted plots. The Town and Country Planning Department in Gurugram conducted a transparent live draw for 104 plots, with the process broadcast on YouTube to ensure fairness.

Background And Legal Resolution

The original draw, conducted by RD Infrastructure Private Limited on May 25, 2000, failed to result in the handover of plots, leading to a long-standing dispute. The matter was taken to the Punjab and Haryana High Court, which, on May 1, 2025, ordered a new draw to grant eligible individuals their rights.

Following the court's order, the Senior Town Planner of Gurugram oversaw the new draw. The results have been published on the department's website, and M/S Gopal Das Estates & Housing Private Limited has been assigned the responsibility of completing the remaining formalities, including granting possession.

Impact And Future Outlook

The successful allottees expressed immense relief and joy, with one stating, "We have been struggling for justice for 25 years. Today we have received our due, and now we hope our dream of having our own home will be fulfilled."
