UIDAI Aadhaar Card Update: The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has announced a major upgrade to the Aadhaar update process, making it faster and more convenient. Starting today, November 1, Aadhaar card holders can update their name, address, date of birth and mobile number online from the comfort of their homes.

The move is expected to reduce the need for physical visits to Aadhaar Seva Kendras and eliminate the cumbersome paperwork that was previously required.

Integration With Govt Database To Speed Up Process

The new system will integrate with existing government databases, including PAN, passport, and ration card records, enabling automatic verification of certain details. To make the process more convenient, utility bills such as electricity and water bills will be accepted as proof of address, expanding the list of eligible documents required for Aadhaar updates.

What Can Be Updated Online On Aadhaar?

Under the new rule, users can update their following details online:

- Name

- Address

- Date of Birth

- Mobile Number

How To Update Your Aadhaar Online?

- Visit the official Aadhaar portal.

- Log in using your Aadhaar number and the OTP sent to your registered mobile number.

- Click on ‘Update Aadhaar’ and select the field you want to update.

- Upload the required documents, if applicable.

- Submit your update request and track its progress online.

- Once updated, the changes will reflect in your Aadhaar profile.

- Take a print of your Aadhaar card and keep it handy for the future.

However, the UIDAI has made it mandatory for Aadhaar cardholders to have their mobile numbers linked to their Aadhaar for online updates and authentication.
