Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP, Raghav Chadha, on Wednesday announced Rs 3.50 Crore from his own Members of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme (MPLADS) fund to support relief and rehabilitation efforts in flood-affected regions of Punjab.
In a video message, Chadha expressed solidarity with the people of the state, offered prayers for their safety, and mourned the loss of more than 30 lives caused by the devastating floods.
Fund Amount Distribution
Of the total sanctioned amount, Rs 2.75 crore has been allocated for repairing and strengthening flood-protection embankments in Gurdaspur, one of the worst-hit districts, to safeguard villages from future disasters. The remaining Rs 50 lakh will be used to aid relief and rehabilitation in Amritsar, another severely affected district. “This is Punjab’s money for Punjab’s people,” he said with emotion, stressing the urgent need for relief measures across all impacted areas.
Calling the calamity one of the worst floods Punjab has faced in recent history, Chadha vowed to raise the issue in Parliament and urged the Centre to extend maximum assistance to the state. He also thanked the Indian Army, BSF, Punjab Police, NDRF, NGOs, civil society groups, and local volunteers for their tireless efforts in helping the affected population.

AAP Displaced Relief Materials From Delhi To Punjab Today
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Wednesday sent trucks loaded with relief supplies from Delhi to flood-affected Punjab, with the first consignment flagged off by the party’s state president, Saurabh Bharadwaj.
Kejriwal, in a post on X, said, "AAP's Delhi state president Saurabh Bhardwaj is reaching Punjab with flood relief materials. From Delhi, every day, our leaders, MLAs, MPs, and common people will also go to Punjab with trucks carrying flood relief materials and provide their services there."
Flood-Hit Punjab
Punjab has been battling catastrophic floods for weeks, with 12 districts severely impacted due to overflowing rivers, and 23 districts officially declared flood-affected. Thousands have been displaced, homes destroyed, and vast stretches of farmland submerged.
As per official figures, at least 30 people have lost their lives, and a significant number of livestock have perished in the ongoing crisis.
