At least four people were killed after a car coming from Agra rammed into a truck parked on the side of the road on Wednesday morning, at nearly 6:30 AM. The incident took place on the Etawah-Kanpur National Highway, near Pilkhar village. There were a total of six people in the car, including a child.
The injured have been sent to the district hospital, and it's said that the accident occurred as the driver fell asleep. Police from Ikdil police station have reached the spot.
Earlier on Tuesday night, a car went out of control and overturned in a ditch near the Chaudhera Kali River bridge on the Pahasu Pandrabal road in Bulandshahr. The accident seriously injured three people, who were admitted to the Community Health Center, Pahasu. They were later shifted to a higher center, where the doctors declared one of them dead. Two people were admitted in critical condition.
"The injured have been sent to the district hospital in Etawah for treatment and their family members have been informed," the police said in a brief media statement.
"The bodies of the four deceased have been sent to the mortuary for post-mortem after legal proceedings," they said.

In another separate incident, as many as four people, including a pregnant woman who was close to delivery, died here in the early hours of Wednesday in a head-on collision between a car and their e-rickshaw, police said.

The e-rickshaw driver was also killed in the accident that occurred around 3 am near Ataria road along the Nainital highway when the pregnant woman, along with other women of the same family, was returning home from the district hospital after a check-up, they said.
The e-rickshaw was ferrying six people, police added.
The deceased were identified as Jyoti, Urmila, Vibha and e-rickshaw driver Manoj, all residents of Bhura Rani.
