The Gujarat government will undertake various development projects from highway expansions to job creation in Dholera. Look at the significant updates shared during the recent Assembly session:
Ahmedabad-Rajkot Highway Six-Laning to be Completed by December
The much-awaited six-laning of the Ahmedabad-Rajkot Highway will be completed by December 2025, the government informed the House, as per a TOI report.
Responding to a query from Rajkot MLA Darshita Shah, Minister Jagdish Vishwakarma said that out of 197 kilometres, six-laning has been completed on 193 kilometres. The remaining work, part of the Rs 3,350 crore project, will be finished by the end of the year.
Rs 550 Crore Sanctioned for Ahmedabad-Dholera Expressway
The state government has sanctioned Rs 550.49 crore for the Ahmedabad-Dholera Expressway, which will connect the proposed Dholera International Airport to Ahmedabad city. In response to a question from Dhandhuka MLA Kalubhai Dabhi, the government confirmed that work on the expressway is currently underway.
17,695 Illegal Mining Cases in Two Years
Illegal mining remains a pressing issue in Gujarat, with 17,695 cases reported over the last two years.
Minister Balvantsinh Rajput informed the Assembly that fines worth Rs 309.25 crore have been recovered. Regular inspections and raids are being conducted at lease sites to curb illegal mining activities.
Dholera SIR to Create 8 Lakh Jobs
The Dholera Special Investment Region (SIR) is set to be a major employment hub, creating 8 lakh jobs once fully operational.
Minister Jagdish Vishwakarma told the House that the 920-square-kilometre SIR is currently undergoing development in its first phase, covering 153 square kilometres.
With these major developments, Gujarat continues to push forward with its infrastructure and economic expansion plans.
