An Air India flight bound for Thailand's Phuket reportedly returned to Hyderabad International Airport shortly after taking off on Saturday. The exact reason behind the aircraft's return has not been disclosed by the airline yet, reported the Times of India. The data from FlightRadar24 suggests that flight IX110 took off from Rajiv Gandhi International Airport at 6.40 am and was scheduled to arrive in Phuket at 11.45 am; however, it returned to Hyderabad shortly after taking off.

Earlier on July 16, an IndiGo flight going from Delhi to Goa made an emergency landing at the Mumbai International Airport after its engine failed, reported PTI, citing sources. The emergency landing in the middle of the journey created panic among the passengers. While one of the engines of the Airbus A320NEO (VT-IZB) reportedly failed after taking off, it safely landed on its one engine.

“One engine of the aircraft failed, and a decision was made to divert to Mumbai. Full emergency was declared at Mumbai Airport. The aircraft landed safely at 9.52 pm,” the Times of India reported, citing sources.

The airline has not released any statement regarding the emergency landing yet. The emergency landing happened amid several other incidents where the flight operations have been disrupted due to multiple reasons. At least 270 people died after an Air India flight to London crashed in Ahmedabad minutes after taking off on June 12.

Earlier on July 16, a Patna-bound IndiGo flight, 6E 2482, from Delhi resorted to a go-around while attempting to land at the Jay Prakash Narayan International Airport in Bihar's capital city on Tuesday, news agency PTI reported, quoting sources.

The aircraft with 173 passengers onboard went a go-around due to an unstabilised approach during the first attempt to land. The pilots did not make a touchdown during the initial approach. The IndiGo flight landed safely on the second attempt at the Patna airport.
