In another shocking case of betrayal, a Delhi woman killed her husband using sleeping pills and electric shocks. The unexpected conspiracy unraveled to the family after the Instagram chat between her and her lover, who happened to be the cousin of the deceased.

The victim, identified as Karan Dev, died at the Mata Rooprani Maggo Hospital on July 13. He was admitted to the hospital by his wife, Sushmita, who claimed that he suffered an electric shock.

What Sushmita and Rahul talked on Instagram during murder?

According to the details discussed on the Instagram chat between Sushmita and her lover Rahul, 15 sleeping pills were mixed in the food of Karan on the night of July 2. In the chat, as reported by NDTV, Sushmita wrote: "Check once how long it does it takes to die after taking the medicine. It's been three hours since he ate food. No vomiting, no potty, nothing. And no death yet either. Then what should we do, suggest something."

To this Rahul suggests to give a shock, saying "If you can't figure anything out, give him a shock." The conversation goes on as Sushmita asks, "How to tie him up for the shock?" "With tape", replied Rahul.

Sushmita then tells Rahul, "He's breathing very slowly." To which Rahul says, "Give him all the medicine you have." Finding it difficult to give him all the medicine, Sushmita says, "I can't get his mouth open. I can pour water in, but I can't give the medicine. You come here, maybe together we can manage to feed it to him."

After Karan died, she informed the in-laws that Karan suffered an electric shock after which he was admitted to the hospital. After doctors confirmed his death, the unaware family declined the autopsy as they suspected nothing suspicious.

However, the police pressed for the process considering the young age of Karan and the suspicious circumstances of his death. The police sent his body to Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital in Harinagar for autopsy.

Accused confess crime

Later, Kunal Dev, the younger brother of Karan found this conversation and reached out to the police on July 16. The police registered an FIR and interrogated both the suspects, who reportedly confessed to killing Karan.

However, in another turn in the case, Sushmita has alleged that Karan had slapped and abused her the day before Karwa Chauth and often demanded money.
