UP News: In an alarming incident emerging from Ambedkar Nagar, 56 FIRs of kidnapping have been registered in 18 police stations of the district in the last month. The number is, however, much higher than what has been reported; half of the families did not bother to complain due to the fear of public shame that it would bring.
Most of the people who were kidnapped are minors from the scheduled castes and poor economic backgrounds, reports Jagran.com, adding a much more shocking fact is that in more than a dozen of these cases, the accused have been muslim youths. The total of 56 FIRs is spread across the districts:
Akbarpur Kotwali- 11
Malipur- 9
Jalalpur-8
Ahiroli-7
Baskhari-6
Jaitpur-5
Mahrua & Sammanpur-3
Ibrahimpur & Bhiti-2
Network Of Muslim Youths: Vishwa Hindu Parishad
While the exact network of these kidnappings has not been found, Vishwa Hindu Parishad’s provincial head, Arvind Pandey, feels that a network of Muslim youths has formed a conspiracy to lure Hindu girls and teenagers and kidnap them, hinting at the possibilities of love jihad. In most cases, the accused are connected.
However, the police have not confirmed such a racket being run in the area. In the police investigation, in most of the kidnapping cases, a common pattern has come to light where young girls and women are trapped in the name of love, mobile phones, and money. The police are currently examining this by corroborating the statements from the recovered girls.

This gang of Muslim youths traps girls in a love trap and kidnaps them as soon as their relatives come to know about it. The police are denying that such a racket is being run, but the cases registered in police stations are proof that the situation is not normal.
The police have remained vigilant ever since the incidents of kidnappings increased. Keshav Kumar, the Superintendent of Police, said as quoted by the Jagran, “Station heads have been instructed to immediately register cases of kidnapping of girls below 18 years of age and recover them. After recovery, the statement of the kidnapped girl is recorded before the magistrate. No case related to love jihad or any other network has come to light so far. Police teams are constantly investigating such cases seriously. Strict action will be taken against the culprits.”'
