Arvind Kejriwal CBI News: A Delhi Court on Saturday sent Delhi Chief Minister and national convener of Aam Aadmi Party, Arvind Kejriwal to 14 days in Judicial custody in the liquor policy case. This came after the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) requested the Rouse Avenue court to send the AAP leader to a 14-day judicial custody. The probe agency produced him in front of the trial court after his three-day CBI custody ended today.
Special Judge Sunena Sharma pronounced the decision on CBI's plea. Notably, the CBI arrested Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal from Tihar jail three days ago to further the investigation into the alleged irregularities in the Delhi Excise Policy of 2021-22.

While requesting 14 days judicial custody of CM Kejriwal, the probe agency said that further custodial interrogation is not required at the present stage. However, the CBI sought judicial custody, claiming that Arvind Kejriwal was 'deliberately evasive during interrogation' and if he is not remanded, he may influence witnesses and tamper with evidence he was confronted with during interrogation, Bar and Bench reported.
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister's wife Sunita Kejriwal reached the Rouse Avenue Court to meet him after the special judge allowed a request of Kejriwal's counsel to let him meet his family.
On the 14-day judicial custody of CM Kejriwal, one of the defending counsel Rishikesh Kumar said: "Arvind Kejriwal was produced before the court after his three-day CBI custody ended today. The CBI sought judicial remand of Arvind Kejriwal, which we opposed. After listening to us and the CBI, the court sent him to a 14-day judicial remand. Arvind Kejriwal will now be produced again in court on July 12," as quoted by PTI.
