Assam Floods: The flood situation in Assam remained grim on Monday with nearly 23 lakh people in 28 districts being affected. The water level of most rivers is above the danger mark. At least 78 people died in floods, landslides and storms in the state this year, out of which 66 people died due to floods alone.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that all relief camps in flood-affected districts have been well-prepared and adequate stock of essential items has been kept until the situation returns to normal. He also stated that the safety and hygiene of flood relief camps is the priority of the government and his team is in touch with the people living there.
Assam Floods: At Least 23 Lakh People From 3,446 Villages Have Been Affected By Floods
At least 23 lakh people in 3,446 villages in 28 districts have been affected by the floods, while 68,432.75 hectares of cropland has been inundated by the second wave of floods. A total of 53,689 people have taken shelter in 269 relief camps, while 3,15,520 people not staying in relief camps have been provided relief materials.

Assam Floods: Nearly 131 Wild Animals Died In Flood
Nearly 131 wild animals have died so far in the floods in Kaziranga National Park, while 97 animals have been rescued. The dead animals include six rhinos, 117 hog deer, 98 died and two vehicle collision. A total of 25 animals died during treatment. The official said that currently 25 animals are under medical care, while 52 others have been released after treatment.
The flood affected districts are Kamrup, Nagaon, Cachar, Dhubri, Goalpara, Morigaon, Hailakandi, Bongaigaon, South Salmara, Dibrugarh, Karimganj, Lakhimpur, Hojai, Nalbari, Charaideo, Biswanath, Golaghat, Jorhat, Dhemaji, Barpeta, Sonitpur, Kokrajhar, Majuli, Kamrup (M), Darrang, Sivasagar, Chirang, Tinsukia.
The flood waters damaged 172 roads, 6 bridges, 8 embankments in the last 24 hours.9 rivers, including Brahmaputra, Barak, and its tributaries, are in spate and flowing above danger level mark at many places in the state.
