Pradeep Nakhwa, the husband of the woman who died after being run over by a speeding BMW, has demanded strict action against the accused. Notably, the car was allegedly being driven by Mihir Shah, son of Rajesh Shah, who is a political leader. While the 24-year-old fled the spot right after the accident and is still absconding, Rajesh was released from jail today after Sewree Court granted him bail.

"I demand that the manner in which he dragged my wife through his car, I will drag him the same way," said Pradeep Nakhwa while speaking to ANI. He also recalled the tragic accident that killed his wife and said claimed that he made an attempt to stop the car; however, the driver dragged his wife.

"We were riding at a speed of 30 to 35 kilometres per hour when a speeding car hit us from behind. Due to the impact, we landed on the bonnet of the car. I started running behind the car asking the driver to stop. Had he stopped the car, my wife could have been saved," he told PTI.

"I have two children. We lost everything. My wife is gone, but the accused should get stringent punishment for the accident," Pradeep Nakhwa added.

Rajesh Shah, who owns the car, and Bidawat, who was in the luxury vehicle at the time of the accident, were arrested on Sunday for allegedly helping Mihir escape after the crash, and they were produced before the court on Monday.

The police have booked all three under a range of charges, including culpable homicide not amounting to murder.

The court noted that Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) section 105 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) did not apply to Rajesh Shah, a leader of the ruling Shiv Sena from neighbouring Palghar district.
