Assam Shocker: A Guwahati man killed his wife through slow poisoning to keep up with his extramarital affair. The man identified as Pankaj Narzary, killed wife Rupali Musahari (32) by mixing poison in a bottle of multivitamins. He gave her doses on June 7, 9, 11, and the final dose on June 14 which turned out to be fatal.

Rupali died from the effects of a toxic substance administered over several days, the post-mortem report confirmed, reported News18. Pankaj planned the murder to make way for his extramarital affair with a woman who ran a grocery shop. 

Pankaj used to leave for his native home after administering each dose. On June 14 when Rupali’s family tried to contact her, Pankaj told them that she was unwell and hours later he informed that she had died. He further added that she was being taken to Guwahati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH). However, when the family arrived at the hospital, the husband and wife could not be located.

Pankaj then told Rupali’s family that he had taken her body to their native home in Baganpara for cremation. The family grew suspicious and alerted the police following which the body was sent for examination.

When the police raided the residence with Pankaj in custody, several bottles of poison were recovered. Pankaj has not been arrested despite a confession as the authorities are waiting for forensic confirmation.
