Gandhi also thanked voters in Telangana as Congress registered a resounding victory in the state.

I am very thankful to the people of Telangana - we will fulfil the promise of making Prajalu Telangana.Heartfelt thanks to all the workers for their hard work and support,” Gandhi wrote.

The poll results, which were announced today, came as a major blow to the Congress as the grand old party got defeated in three states out of four states.

Till a few months ago, almost every poll predicted a comfortable victory for Congress in Chhattisgarh but things turned unexpected amid BJP’s strong lead in the state.

The BJP is heading for a landslide victory in Madhya Pradesh with a lead on 156 of 230 seats. Notably, the saffron party has been in power in MP for over 20 years, barring two years of Kamal Nath's government in 2018.
