Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla is set to become the first Indian in over 40 years to travel to space tomorrow, June 11. The Chief of the Air Staff, together with all Air Warriors of the Indian Air Force, wish him and the entire Axiom-4 crew a safe and successful trip to the international space station. This momentous voyage will signal a new era in India's space exploration.

In order to witness the launch of the Axiom-4 mission, which has been delayed by one day owing to weather, an 18-member delegation from the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), headed by chairman V Narayanan, has arrived at NASA's Kennedy Space Centre in Florida. Lift-off is now scheduled for Wednesday at 5:30 PM India time.

ISRO wrote on X, "Launch of Axiom-4 mission to International Space Station: Due to weather conditions, the launch of Axiom-4 mission for sending Indian Gaganyatri to International Space Station is postponed from 10th June 2025 to 11th June 2025. The targeted time of launch is 5:30 PM IST on 11th June 2025: Dr V Narayanan, Chairman ISRO/ Secretary DOS / Chairman Space Commission."

In a post on X, Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh also provided the information. He stated that the expedition has been delayed by one day because to unfavorable weather conditions.

India, Poland, and Hungary are among the crew members of the Ax-4, which is the second government-sponsored human spaceflight mission in more than 40 years and the first journey to the space station for each country in history, according to Axiom Space.

India will send its second national astronaut to space since 1984 with Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla.
