Ayodhya Ram Temple will house one of the three idols of Ram Lalla, the child form of Lord Rama, that are being made by three sculptors - Ganesh Bhatt, Arun Yogiraj and Satyanarayan Pandey. The Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra, which is responsible for the management of the temple, said that the idol that captures the “tenderness of a five-year-old child, will be chosen” and placed in the sanctum sanctorum or garbhagriha of the temple.

The trust stated that the selection of the idol will be made soon and the other two idols will be kept in other parts of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. The Vedic rituals for the Pran-Pratishtha (consecration ceremony) will begin on January 16, a week before the opening ceremony of the temple. The main rituals will be performed by Ganeshwar Shastri Dravid and Lakshmi Kant Dixit, the trust said.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the grand opening of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya on January 22 along with several other dignitaries invited by the temple’s trust.
