CV Ananda Bose Death Threat: West Bengal Governor CV Ananda Bose received a death threat via email, in which the sender warned of a plan to "blast" the governor, a senior Lok Bhavan official told news agency PTI. Following the threat on Thursday night, authorities immediately stepped up security arrangements around the governor.
"The accused also mentioned his mobile number in the email. We have informed the DGP and asked him to arrest the person immediately," the official told PTI. CV Ananda Bose has a Z-plus security. Now around 60-70 central police personnel are deployed for his protection.
The matter was reported to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and the Union Home Ministry. The official added that West Bengal Police and the Central Reserve Police Force ( CRPF) have heightened security to ensure the governor's safety.
In another update, several district courts across India also received bomb threats via email on Thursday, triggering widespread panic and heightened security measures. Courts in Bihar, Chhattisgarh, and Madhya Pradesh were among those targeted, prompting evacuations and emergency responses as authorities worked to assess any threat. For security reasons, all court premises were immediately evacuated. Judges, lawyers, staff, and civilians present in the courts were safely evacuated.
A threatening email was sent to the Bilaspur and Rajnandgaon District Courts in Chhattisgarh, and to the Rewa District Court in Madhya Pradesh. Upon receiving the information, police and bomb squads from the respective districts arrived at the scene and began a thorough search of the entire premises.

Bomb threats were also received by district courts in Patna, Gayaji, and Kishanganj in Bihar. An email sent by an unknown person in Patna claimed that RDX explosives had been planted in the court premises, prompting a massive security increase.
The Himachal Pradesh High Court also received a bomb threat. The threat was sent to the High Court's official email address. Police and administration immediately swung into action. A bomb disposal squad arrived at the scene. Every part of the High Court was thoroughly inspected.
