Bengal Weather Upadate: The Meteorological Department has forecast storms and rain in multiple districts of West Bengal on Monday. Heavy rain is forecast mostly for North Bengal Districts. Additionally, Kolkata is likely to see scattered light to moderate rainfall this week. So far, April has been reasonably bearable, with rain and thunderstorms impacting almost the entire state. The maximum temperature in Alipore hovered around 35 degrees Celsius while the minimum relative humidity was 61 per cent on Sunday. By April 23, the temperature is likely to touch 37 degrees Celsius in Alipore. Dum Dum and adjoining areas could be hotter as a result of dry westerly winds.
South Bengal Weather
The chances of rain in the districts of South Bengal are slim for now. However, some districts will still receive rain. Light to moderate rain is likely in districts including 24 Parganas, 2 Midnapore, Howrah, Birbhum, Jhargram this week. The Alipore Meteorological Department has forecast a sudden increase in temperature of up to six degrees in Gangetic South Bengal.
The weather in the districts of South Bengal was generally bearable due to storms and rains for most of the last week.
Kolkata Weather
The Met office has warned that the day time temperature in Kolkata is likely to reach 37 degrees Celsius by the middle of this week. However, scattered light to moderate rains is also forecast in Kolkata city this week.
North Bengal Weather
The Meteorological Department has forecast rain in almost all districts of North Bengal on Monday. Rain accompanied by thunder and lightning may occur in each district. As per the weather body heavy rain is likely in the two hilly districts of North Bengal, Darjeeling and Kalimpong, as well as Jalpaiguri and Cooch Behar districts on Monday.
Warnings have been issued for Monday and Tuesday. Along with the rains on these two days, gusty winds of 30 to 40 kmph are likely to blow in several districts.
