Bengaluru Airport Chaos: Air travellers continued to face widespread disruption on Thursday as IndiGo’s large-scale flight cancellations led to long queues and confusion at major airports. Amid the ongoing crisis, a video shared by Bengaluru-based entrepreneur Vithika Agarwal has drawn significant attention online, offering a ground-level view of the situation inside Kempegowda International Airport.
Agarwal posted the clip on Instagram, urging passengers to reconsider their travel plans. “The nightmare is real! If you are planning to fly in the next 24 to 48 hours especially on Indigo think twice and if you absolutely have to, have a plan B,” she wrote. Her video text read: “The chaos at Bangalore airport.”
In the footage, she shows crowds gathered across long stretches of the terminal. “What you see here is people waiting in these long never-ending lines to try and get some food at the airport because they don’t know if their planes are rescheduled, flying, not flying, or cancelled,” she said. She added that many passengers had checked in but were still left uncertain about their departures. “No information is coming and people are just begging for some kind of information. This is people who’ve already checked in trying to leave, and if that’s not a possibility, they’re just finding a space,” she explained.

Her video comes at a time when IndiGo’s operations have been hit severely for two consecutive days. Over 150 flights were cancelled on Wednesday, followed by more than 300 cancellations on Thursday. Airports in Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Bengaluru saw the highest impact. According to an official, Thursday’s cancellations included 33 flights from Delhi, 68 from Hyderabad, 85 from Mumbai and 73 from Bengaluru.
The situation worsened earlier in the week when a technical issue with Amadeus software used by several airlines, including Air India, Akasa Air and SpiceJet caused additional delays and cancellations on Tuesday night.
With airlines struggling to stabilise schedules, thousands of passengers remain stranded or uncertain, prompting increasing frustration and appeals for clearer communication from carriers.
