The Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) announced on Friday the launch of new express bus services on five key routes linking the city to its outskirts. Started on June 21, the initiative aims to reduce traffic congestion and provide quicker commute options for daily travelers.

Speaking at the launch, Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy said the new limited-stop express services will run from Kempegowda Bus Stand (Majestic) and Banashankari TTMC to key outskirts including Attibele, Devanahalli, Harohalli, and Nelamangala.

About BMTC Express Bus Service

BMTC operates a total of 48 schedules and 348 trips daily, with buses running at intervals of 20 to 30 minutes. The new express services will cover the following routes:

Ex-KBS-3A: Kempegowda Bus Stand to Attibele, 10 trips

Ex-600F: Banashankari TTMC to Attibele, 10 trips

Ex-298M: Kempegowda Bus Stand to Devanahalli, 10 trips

Ex-213V: Banashankari TTMC to Harohalli, 8 trips

Ex-258C: Kempegowda Bus Stand to Nelamangala, 10 trips


To promote regular travel, BMTC has introduced a new ‘Express Ordinary Services Monthly Pass’ priced at Rs 1,500 (excluding toll charges). The pass is available digitally via the Tummoc app. Fares for these express services will be the same as regular BMTC buses.

About Temple Tour Service 

In addition to the express routes, BMTC has launched a new spiritual tourism package titled ‘Ghati Isha Foundation’, which will operate on weekends and public holidays.

The air-conditioned bus tour will start at 9 a.m. from Kempegowda Bus Station, and will cover the following destinations:

Nelamangala Anjaneya Swamy Temple

Ghati Subrahmanya Temple

Jnana Teertha Linga

Isha Foundation

Lunch will be provided during the day-long tour, which concludes by 7 p.m. The package is priced at Rs 600 per person.

Additionally, two more premium spiritual tour services, Isha Foundation-1A from Banashankari TTMC and 1B from Central Silk Board, are scheduled to launch soon.
