Bengaluru News: A businessman in Bengaluru survived a violent attack after he was allegedly stabbed several times by a former employee who lured him out on the pretext of showing a property. The victim, identified as Amar Narayanaswamy, runs a Lord Ganesh idol manufacturing unit in the city.
According to a NDTV report, the accused, Jayanth, had worked at Amar’s factory for only three days in June 2025. On Friday, he contacted Amar claiming he could assist him in purchasing a Bengaluru Development Authority (BDA) site and asked him to visit the location.
Amar agreed and accompanied Jayanth in his Thar jeep to the Sulekere BDA Layout. The duo reportedly inspected a few vacant plots before starting their return journey. During the drive back, Jayanth, who was sitting in the rear seat, allegedly tried to pull off Amar’s gold chain. When Amar resisted, Jayanth is said to have attacked him with a knife. The victim suffered multiple stab wounds on his face, neck, forehead, shoulder and head.
Despite the injuries, Amar managed to escape from the vehicle and ran towards the main road. In an attempt to save himself, he climbed onto a moving Tata Ace truck. However, Jayanth chased after him, caught hold of him once again and stabbed him on his back before snatching the gold chain. The accused then fled on a black Pulsar motorcycle.
Police have filed a case against Jayanth for attempted murder, robbery and assault with a weapon. He has also been booked under sections related to caste-based abuse. A search operation has been launched to locate and arrest the accused.
