Bengaluru Cooker Blast: A 28-year-old man, identified as Moshin, died after sustaining injuries in a pressure cooker blast in Bengaluru. The blast which took place near 24th Main in JP Nagar 5th Phase while Moshin and his roommate, 24-year-old Samir, were cooking in their shared room. Both men worked at a local salon and hailed from Uttar Pradesh.

The explosion prompted an immediate response from local authorities, particularly given to its timing just two days before Independence Day. Officials from the National Investigation Agency (NIA), the Internal Security Division and the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad inspected the scene to search for any signs of explosive materials. However, their investigations did not uncover any evidence of foul play.

The Times Of India report quoted Bengaluru Police Commissioner B. Dayananda as saying, “Prima facie, it appears to be an incident of a cooker blast.” A senior police officer also confirmed that there was no connection to any terror activity and described the incident as a mishap in the kitchen.

The blast left Samir injured and he remains in hospital while receiving treatment for his injuries.

Meanwhile in a separate incident, Sreeparna Dutta from Bengaluru has taken to social media to find her husband, Vipin Gupta, a tech professional missing since August 4. Despite reporting the case, she alleges police inaction. Gupta’s bike was found abandoned, and Rs 1.8 lakh was withdrawn from his account shortly after he disappeared. Dutta, frustrated with the investigation's lack of progress, shared her distress on Facebook, revealing ransom calls that police dismissed as hoaxes.
