Bengaluru News: Bengaluru's City Civil Court has granted bail to Nikita Singhania, her mother Nisha Singhania and her brother Anurag Singhania, who were arrested in connection with the suicide of Nikita's husband, 34-year-old techie Atul Subhash. The three were charged with abetment of suicide following Atul's tragic death.

Nikita Singhania was arrested in Gurugram, Haryana, while Nisha and Anurag were taken into custody in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. The trio was brought to Bengaluru and subsequently sent to 14-day judicial custody in December. They were later granted bail by the court, with their lawyer confirming the move based on "factual information" and claims of harassment.

The case gained attention after Atul Subhash was found dead, leaving behind a 24-page suicide note in which he detailed his emotional turmoil, marital issues and allegations of harassment by his wife, her family and a judge from Uttar Pradesh. Atul’s suicide video and handwriting are currently under forensic examination, according to his lawyer, Vinay Singh.

The case against the Singhanias was registered after Atul’s brother filed a complaint. He accused Nikita, Nisha, Anurag and their relative Sushil Singhania of pressuring Atul to the point of suicide. Sushil, Nikita’s uncle, was granted anticipatory bail by the Allahabad High Court in December after the police made their arrests based on the suicide note and viral video.

Atul Subhash, an Artificial Intelligence engineer, had been dealing with marital conflicts since his marriage in 2019. His suicide note also detailed multiple legal disputes and the strained relationship with his wife, who had given birth to their son in 2020.

In the wake of the arrest, the Singhanias’ lawyer expressed plans to challenge the bail order after reviewing the order sheet.
