Bengaluru Covid Cases: As schools across Bengaluru get ready to reopen, the Karnataka Associated Managements of Schools (KAMS) has released a fresh advisory for private institutions, urging them to remain cautious in view of new Covid-19 variants and seasonal viral infections.
According to Times Of India report, the advisory, issued shortly after a Covid-related death was reported in the city on Saturday, stresses that while the situation is not alarming, schools must follow responsible practices to safeguard students and staff.

Bengaluru School Covid Advisory For Parents
The circular outlines new standard operating procedures (SOPs) for schools to follow both before and after reopening. A major point in the guidelines is the implementation of a health-based attendance system. Parents have been asked not to send children to school if they display symptoms like cough, cold, fever, rashes or any signs of allergies. Immediate medical advice should be taken in such cases.
Covid Guidelines For Bengaluru School
According to the advisory, ensuring children’s health must take priority over their physical attendance. Schools have also been instructed to carry out proper sanitisation of premises and promote hygiene awareness among students. Teachers and staff have been encouraged to educate students on regular hand washing, respiratory hygiene, and the importance of maintaining clean and airy classrooms.
If a student becomes unwell during school hours, the advisory directs schools to isolate the child in a separate space under supervision and notify parents at once.
KAMS also urged everyone to avoid sharing unverified or alarming information about Covid-19. Only official updates from health departments should be trusted.
Speaking to the media, KAMS general secretary Shashi Kumar said the association has not received any formal instructions from the government yet. However, the advisory was shared with member schools as a preventive step. “With ongoing rains and the risk of infections among children, we want schools to stay alert without causing panic,” he said. He also clarified that measures like masking and distancing are not required at this point and schools will be updated if that changes.
