“I killed my wife for you.” These chilling words were reportedly sent by Dr. Mahendra Reddy GS, the prime accused in the murder of his dermatologist wife, Dr. Kruthila Reddy to at least four to five women, including a medical professional who had previously rejected his advances, just weeks after Kruthila’s death.

In a desperate attempt to restart his love life, Mahendra allegedly reconnected with several women who had earlier rejected him, resurfacing dramatically to renew his marriage proposals to nearly half a dozen of them.

Police say that on April 24, Mahendra gave anaesthesia to his wife Kruthika, 29, and killed her. He was later arrested on October 14 from Manipal in Udupi district for her murder.

According to the Times of India, police officials revealed that the messages were part of a series of obsessive and erratic communications that began months before Kruthika’s death and continued even afterward.

Police Authorities found that Mahendra sent the message “I killed my wife for you” to the medical professional who via a digital payment app after she blocked him on several messaging platforms.

Police have seized his phone and laptop and sent them to a forensic laboratory for analysis, which confirmed the messages.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Whitefield) K. Parashurama verified that the messages were sent through PhonePe, a digital payment app. The woman’s statement has been recorded, but details remain confidential due to the ongoing investigation.

The woman reportedly told police she had blocked Mahendra before he got married. After finding out about his marriage to Kruthika, she kept her distance. However, a couple of months after the murder, Mahendra allegedly sent her a “confession.”

Until Mahendra’s arrest, the woman believed he was lying about the murder just to reestablish contact, a senior police officer said, adding that the woman had no involvement in the crime.

Investigations further revealed that Mahendra was also in touch with a woman from Mumbai until 2023. He had proposed to her and met her several times before making his father call and tell her that he had “died in an accident.”

Months later, Mahendra “came back from the dead,” contacting her in September to claim he was alive. He told her that according to his astrological chart, it was his first wife who was destined to die. Claiming that his “love for her was genuine,” he admitted to lying about his death and marrying Kruthika but now that his wife was gone, he wanted to marry her instead.
