At least 10 flights bound for Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport were diverted to Chennai due to heavy rain, airport officials said on Saturday. The severe downpour disrupted flight operations, leading to air traffic congestion and travel delays. Airlines, including Air India and Indigo, have issued advisories to mitigate the inconvenience caused due to the diversion of flights.
IndiGo acknowledged the weather-related disruptions, advising passengers to monitor their flight status for real-time updates. The airline offered flexible rebooking and refund options, stating that operations would resume smoothly once conditions improved.
"We encourage you to keep a tab on your flight status for real-time updates. Should there be a need to adjust your travel plans, you can explore flexible rebooking options or claim a refund conveniently via our website," the IndiGo advisory read.

Traffic Chaos And Waterlogging
The heavy rain also triggered widespread waterlogging, severely affecting road traffic across the city. Bengaluru Traffic Police reported slow-moving vehicles in several areas, including Ramamurthynagar Bridge, Kasturinagar Ring Road and Hunsmaranahalli, which led to congestion on the route to Kempegowda International Airport.
