Bengaluru Hebbal Flyover Update: Bengaluru commuters can soon expect smoother travel to Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) as the Hebbal flyover loop nears completion. The Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) has reported significant progress on the project.
The new Hebbal flyover loop aims to boost connectivity from the North Bengaluru areas, including Yelahanka, Jakkur, and Sahakaranagar, to the city centre and KIA airport.
Hebbal Flyover Loop Update: Civil Works Completed, Steel Griders Installation Underway
- According to a report by Times Now, the BDA has completed all civil works for the columns of the Hebbal flyover loop.
- The next stage focuses on installing steel girders across three spans.
- Fabrication for Span 1 has been finalised, and painting work is currently underway.
- A dedicated team of 30 workers is actively engaged in welding and fabrication of Span 2 and 3.
Hebbal Flyover Loop To Ease Airport Traffic
- The upcoming Hebbal flyover loop will streamline traffic coming from the KIA airport towards the city, reducing congestion.
- The project includes dedicated lanes for vehicles from Yelahanka, Sahakaranagar, and Jakkur.
- These measures are expected to significantly ease the load on the heavily congested Hebbal flyover, a major traffic artery in Bengaluru.
- The new loop is a part of a broader strategy to tackle persistent congestion issues that have long affected commuters in the region.
What’s Ahead?
While the overall completion timeline for the Hebbal flyover loop has not been announced, the ongoing work represents a significant step in strengthening Bengaluru’s infrastructure upgrade. According to the officials, the loop will pave the way for a faster, uninterrupted flow of vehicles, especially for those travelling to Kempegowda International Airport.
