Bengaluru News: A 38-year-old food delivery agent was killed in a hit-and-run accident in the early hours of Saturday near Bhattarahalli Signal in Bengaluru’s KR Puram area while he was on a delivery assignment. The victim, identified as Surender Bahadur, a native of Nepal, was riding his scooter around 3.30 AM when a car allegedly hit him from behind. The driver did not stop at the spot and fled immediately after the collision.
According to a NDTV report, people passing through the area noticed Bahadur lying injured on the road and shifted him to a nearby hospital. Doctors said he had suffered severe injuries and could not be saved.
Scooter And Delivery Items Found
Police who inspected the scene found the victim’s scooter extensively damaged at the front, indicating a high-impact collision. During checks, officials also found the food order he was carrying in his delivery bag. The items included Cheese Jalapeno Fries and a Veggie Supreme Burger.
Worked With Swiggy
Bahadur had been living in Bengaluru for the past three years and was working as a delivery partner with Swiggy. He was reportedly on his way to complete the delivery when the accident occurred.
Police Launch Probe
A case has been registered at the KR Puram Traffic Police Station. Police teams have begun examining CCTV footage from the accident spot and surrounding areas to identify the vehicle involved and trace the driver.
Officials said further investigation is underway and efforts are being made to locate the accused at the earliest.
