Bengaluru News: A 35-year-old woman was allegedly gang-raped by four men inside her friend's house in southeast Bengaluru late on Monday night. Police said the accused also looted valuables and transferred money from the survivor’s mobile phone.

The incident took place when the woman had gone to her friend's house. Another male friend later joined them. According to the woman’s complaint, three men arrived at the house and knocked on the door. As soon as it was opened, they barged in, accusing the group of being involved in flesh trade and threatened to take them to the police.

The Times Of India report cited Police as stating that,  the three men, along with the friend who arrived later, then assaulted one of the woman’s friends and allegedly raped her. The accused snatched her phone and transferred Rs 13,000 to one of their own accounts.

When the group demanded more money and found nothing else available, they decided to rob the house. They allegedly took away a refrigerator, washing machine and LED television. According to investigators, they even arranged a mini-goods vehicle to carry the stolen items from the scene.

Based on the complaint, police have arrested four suspects—Shashi Kumar, Kenche Gowda, Raghu and Madesh—residents of Hebbagodi. Three of them are employed at a biopharmaceutical firm, while one works at a hotel.

The police are continuing their investigation and have registered a case of gang rape and robbery. Further questioning of the accused is underway.
