Bengaluru Jail Breach: Bengaluru Central Jail is once again under scrutiny following a recent security breach. A video has emerged on social media showing inmates dancing and consuming liquor and snacks inside the jail, only a few hours after the government warned of strict action against jail authorities for allowing VVIP-style treatment.
Liquor, Snacks, And Dancing Inside Bengaluru Prison
A new video has surfaced showing inmates inside Bengaluru Central Jail enjoying what appears to be a party, with liquor served in disposable glasses, cut fruits, and fried peanuts laid out, NDTV reported.
In another footage, four small bottles of alcohol were seen neatly arranged while some inmates danced to the sounds of utensils being banged by other inmates. However, The Daily Jagran has not independently verified the authenticity of the video.
This incident has raised serious questions about security measures at the high-security facility, which was already under scrutiny after notorious inmates, including a serial rapist and a gold smuggling case accused, were allegedly seen using mobile phones and watching television.
Serial Rapist, Other Inmates Seen Using Mobile Phones, Watching TV
In a video that emerged yesterday, Umesh Reddy, accused in 18 rape and murder cases, was seen using two Android phones and a keypad mobile, with a television placed in his barracks.

Alongside Umesh Reddy, another inmate, Tarun Raju, arrested in connection with the Ranya Rao gold smuggling case, was seen using a mobile phone and cooking inside Bengaluru Jail.
CM Siddaramaiah Assures Strict Action
Following the incident, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah assured that necessary action would be taken, while the Prisons Department promptly launched an inquiry into the videos that surfaced yesterday.
This morning, Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara also warned of strict action against jail authorities and stated that such security lapses will not be tolerated. “I will not tolerate this nonsense. Enough is enough. This kind of incident shouldn't happen. It is said that there are fewer staff. But at least the existing staff should do proper work. It is not an excuse,” he said.
