Bengaluru News: A Bengaluru resident found a live worm in a salad he ordered online from FreshMenu via Zomato. The customer, identified as Pratik, shared a video of the incident on Instagram, displaying the worm crawling in his salad bowl.
In his post, Pratik stated that he had ordered four items but only received three. He expressed his reluctance to check the remaining dishes after the unsettling find. “After seeing this, I don't want to open the other two,” he stated in the video, urging Zomato to investigate the matter further.

The video, posted by Instagram user @fitnesskapratik, quickly went viral. In it, Pratik showed the worm in the salad and recounted his disappointment with the meal. He cautioned others to be careful when ordering food from restaurants, especially during these times. In his caption, he wrote, “After a long time, I decided to have something from outside and this happened. Please, guys, try to avoid outside food and if you have no other option, then please check the food properly before eating.” He also tagged Bengaluru in his post and included hashtags like #fitness, #healthyfood and #zomato.

In response to the incident, FreshMenu immediately issued an apology to Pratik. The company acknowledged the seriousness of the situation, stating, “Finding a live worm in your salad is absolutely unacceptable and we are deeply sorry for this lapse on our kitchen's part.” They confirmed that their team acted immediately after learning about the incident, with representatives visiting Pratik in person to apologise and understand his concerns.
FreshMenu further stated that they identified the issue in their processes and took strict disciplinary action against those involved. They committed to enhancing training and implementing more rigorous checks in their kitchens to prevent similar incidents in the future.
The video sparked outrage online, with many users sharing their negative experiences with FreshMenu. One commenter noted, “I stopped ordering from Fresh Menu when I found a plastic piece and stale food inside. Never order from them again.”
