Bengaluru Metro Fare Hike: It appears that despite passenger protests, Bengaluru Namma Metro will raise fares; the rise might reach 20 percent. Metro prices now vary from Rs 10 to Rs 60, and they will probably be between Rs 15 and Rs 75 following the rise. A recent request for feedback on the proposed price rise was made by the Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL).
However, reports stated that despite receiving negative responses on the idea, the BMRCL still plans to raise metro rates. The feedback session, which lasted from October 3 to October 28, asked individuals what they thought of the Namma metro pricing change.
The report claims that the increase is being planned to address growing operating expenses. The authorities have met following the 25-day feedback period, and an announcement on a possible rate increase may be made shortly. Passengers on the purple and green lines that experience heavy traffic will be most affected by the step.
Bengaluru Metro Green Line Extension Opening
Residents of Bengaluru will be very relieved when Namma Metro's long-awaited Green Line Extension officially opens for them on Thursday, November 7.
On Wednesday, a day before the ceremonial debut, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar had a test ride on the metro. He was accompanied by Bengaluru South MP and BJP leader Tejasvi Surya.
An elevated metro corridor under Phase 2 of the project, the 3.14 km section of Bengaluru's Namma Metro Green Line extension from Nagasandra to Madavara consists of three metro stations: Majunathanagar, Chikkabidarakallu, and Madavara (BIEC).
