Bengaluru Namma Metro Update: The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) is reportedly planning to boost the metro services by significantly improving the frequency. The authority is set to operate trains at a four-minute frequency on all the corridors in the next two years. The officials stated that the improved frequency will also boost the ridership and will provide convenience to the commuters by cutting the travel time. The state-owned BEML on Friday announced that it has received a contract from the metro authority for supplying extra trains on all the metro routes. The authority also stated that the improved frequency will also reduce the crowd at the key metro stations.
While providing details, the officials stated that 10-12 trainsets will be provided to the Yellow Line once the corridor is extended to Attibele. They further stated that the trains on the Yellow line will operate at the frequency of 12 minutes after the introduction of the sixth trainset, adding that more trains will be added in the upcoming months. Apart from this, the officials also stated that the additional trains will also improve the services on the Pink Line.
