Bengaluru Namma Metro Yellow Line: The Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has received the fifth trainset for the Namma Metro’s Yellow Line. As per authorities the new train is expected to be commissioned into service by the second week of October, following standard testing and clearance procedures.
Once deployed, the additional trainset is expected to ease peak-hour rush and bring down waiting time to around 15 minutes, offering much-needed relief to daily commuters, especially office-goers, according to a report by Times Property.
The BMRCL also noted that the Yellow Line has already helped decongest traffic in key corridors of the city and significantly cut travel times for IT professionals.

While providing details, the authority stated that the trainset will be assembled at the depot and will undergo a 20-day testing cycle before the operation. “The trainset must undergo various kinds of tests, including system integration with signalling, telecommunications, and power supply networks,” a senior BMRCL official was quoted as saying by The Hindu.
The authority further stated that the operation of the fifth train will provide relief to the commuters by improving the frequency.
The 18.82-kilometer-long Yellow Line between RV Road and Bommasandra was inaugurated on August 10 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. While the metro line improved the travel experience for the IT professionals, they complained of poor frequency, especially during the morning hours. Only three trains were available during the launch, forcing the passengers to wait at least 25 minutes during the peak hours.
